Om Amandusfestivalen

Amandus er en filmfestival og konkurranse for filminteressert ungdom under 20 år som årlig arrangeres på Lillehammer uka før påske.

Konkurransene og Amandusprisen

Amandus arrangerer hvert år en filmkonkurranse og en manuskonkurranse. De innsendte filmene nomineres innenfor kategorier som fiksjon, animasjon, dokumentar, ekstremsport og musikkvideo.

Blant de innsendte bidragene til manuskonkurransen inviteres seks til å delta på manusworkshop sammen med manuslinja på Den norske filmskolen. Vinnermanuset filmatiseres av Den norske filmskolen under festivalen.

Vinnerne i de ulike kategoriene kåres under Amandusprisen som er en fjernsynsproduksjon produsert av studenter fra fjernsynsutdanningen på Høgskolen i Lillehammer. Showet har tidligere år blitt sendt på NRK.

Festivalen

Under festivalen arrangeres det diverse filmfaglige kurs og verksteder og møter mellom ungdom og profesjonelle filmskapere. I tillegg vises det film laget av ungdom og profesjonell barne- og ungdomsfilm. Amandus arranger også diverse utstillinger.

Amandus Film Festival for Young Filmmakers

• A national festival focusing on young and up-and-coming filmmakers in Norway
• The festival aims to stimulate young people to make more and better films and to give young producers access to screening venues like cinema theatres and TV
• A TV-broadcasted award ceremony is the highlight of the festival, where lots of national celebrities are participating to give awards. TV-production by students from tv-college/HIL.
• During the week the young participants attend activities like workshops, seminars, debates and various film presentations
• The screenings of professional films are linked to seminars on film education and media literacy, and they are attended by students as well as teachers visiting the festival

Amandus film festival – now in its 23nd year!

The festival was established in 1987 and organized by The Norwegian Film Institute for many years. Over the last 11 years the festival has taken place in Lillehammer, and is now an independent festival closely linked to Lillehammer University College, The local cinema and the region with financial support from national, official sources and some private organisations. The festival is focusing on young filmmakers under the age of 20, and their own film expressions. The aims of Amandus are to stimulate young filmmakers to make more and better films, to enable them to use moving images when telling a story or expressing opinions – in the end to stimulate freedom of expression.
